A periodontist duty is to examine, diagnose, and treat gum disease. They also treat issues of the gum and bones that surround the jaw. Some of these duties may be surgical or non surgical. They may work in private offices, group pratices, clinics, dental school, or hospital.

Education:
IN order to become a periodontist you must acquire all educational requiremets. These requirements include a completed dental school, recidency, bachelor's degree, and Doctor of Dental Surgery or Doctor of Dental Medicine. You must also be licensed and board certified.
Demand or Need:
As a periodontist you must have special skills needed. Skills like atteention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving, organization, leadership, and stamina are needed.

The career pathway of a periodonists is a somewhat interesting occupation. This job involved a lot of teamwork, leadership, and communication skills. I would be intersted in doing this job for a while but not for a life time. There are many more interesting careers that I would enjoy doing insted. However, the pay is very good, but It is not about the money. So, I would not like to be a peridontist.
